Character Coloring

This was to learn more about painting. I had fun. In the future I need to pay more attention about posing and expression to show character. I wanted this character to have a strong upper body that he could use to "monkey" himself around casually yet appear fast on his feet. Just like those competitors on that "Ninja Warrior" tv show.
This is the original sketch. I lost some of the energy in the colored piece that is in this drawing. I have an idea of how to keep it for the next time I paint.

Fun, but..

While drawing I get bored so sometimes I just say something like"sure that's pretty much what a hand looks like" And the hand is drawn poorly and without thought. Most of the the time, I don't finish drawings and mistakes happens. Mistakes like perspective issues, one arm being longer than the other, lines that aren't connecting, etc.., My drawing stamina is only at level 3. Solution: Draw more and power up some more.

Ryu and Clothe studies

Ryu. The iconic japanese main character in the Street Fighter games. A wandering warrior: a person whose life is entirely devoted to spiritual perfection through the art of the fist. He does not care about winning or losing so much as the moment of the fight and the opportunity for spiritual advancement.

I was drawing a karate practitioner and it was easy just to make him into Ryu. Next time I'll give more thought to the facial expression, seeing how it really doesn't fit him. I had a hard time thinking about how to draw the folds on his clothing so I did some studies. Keeping the folds simple was the best way to go because detailed folds would've been too distracting. The Asian guy on the right and left is thinker I always like to draw.

I've been finding out that I can't be lazy if I want to draw something satisfying.

Old Lady, why won't you ask for the seat?

The other day when I rode the bus to work, it was completely filled, luckily I obtained a seat. Unfortunately an old lady was unable to get one so she stood right in front of me holding onto the hand rails. As the ride continued, I noticed that she was looking uncomfortable and thought about giving up my seat. After all, it would be the nice thing to do. Of course I didn't want to because I didn't feel like standing up and in my head I made an excuse that if I did offered she would be offended(cuz sometime ppl don't want to be seen as weak) . So I decided to wait and see if she would ask me for my seat. I stayed comfortably seated for the next 15 minutes or so. During that time, i thought about asking her if she would like to sit down, but more so I thought about why didn't she just ask me for my seat. Perhaps she thought I was gonna be on the bus for a while, or that it wasn't her place to ask, or that I may be annoyed/inconvenienced by her request, etc. Whatever the reasons, if she needed to sit down she should have just asked. You don't get what you want in this world by not taking any actions and I'm not a mind reader.........yeah, I was pretty selfish/harsh and should have offered up my seat. Oh well. If I make it to that age, I'm asking for the seat.
